About me

Claire + Jay

Hi, I’m Jason — a qualified person-centred counsellor offering in-person therapy across Manchester and Liverpool, as well as online sessions for clients across the UK. I know that reaching out for support isn’t always easy, but I want you to know that you’re not alone. I’m here to offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, be heard, and start to make sense of whatever’s going on in your life.

I work with people from all walks of life, supporting them through anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, and everyday pressures. My approach is gentle, respectful, and tailored to you — whether you need someone to talk to for a few sessions or you’re looking for longer-term support. I believe that, with the right support, we all have the strength to heal and grow.

My background includes hands-on experience with Rochdale Mind and the Getting Oldham Working programme, helping individuals access mental health resources and rebuild their confidence. I’m also trained in trauma-informed therapy and continue to expand my knowledge through integrative counselling.

What Clients Say

Hearing real stories from others can make taking the first step feel a little easier. Here are a few words from people I’ve had the privilege to support — shared with warmth, honesty and consent.

I’d tried CBT before, but it never felt right for me. When I started counselling with Jason, I was dealing with anxiety and depression after some difficult life events. What I really needed was someone to listen — and help me make sense of it all. Great counsellor, would definitely recommend.
Losing my mum left me feeling empty, like life wasn’t worth living. My GP recommended counselling and that’s how I found Jason. Our sessions helped me understand the grieving process — and more importantly, understand myself. As a man, I used to think showing emotion was weak. Now I know it’s part of healing. I feel more positive and I’m making better decisions than I was when I first walked through the door.
I felt like I could just be myself — I had no fear of being judged.
I can’t thank you enough. I went from shutting down my emotions to finally feeling and expressing them again — something I hadn’t allowed myself to do in a long time. This has been life changing.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what’s bringing you to counselling, your goals, and any concerns you might have. It’s a relaxed conversation aimed at making you feel comfortable and setting the foundation for our work together.

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some clients find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly review our progress to ensure the counselling is meeting your needs.

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of counselling. What you share in sessions stays between us. However, there are rare exceptions where I’m legally obligated to break confidentiality, such as if there’s a risk of harm to you or others. We’ll discuss this in more detail during our first meeting.

Absolutely. I offer both in-person sessions across my Manchester, Liverpool and Stockport locations, as well as online sessions via secure video conferencing. This flexibility means you can choose the setting that feels most comfortable and convenient for you — whether that’s face-to-face or from the comfort of your own home.

Counselling can be beneficial for anyone facing challenges, seeking personal growth, or wanting a space to talk things through. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to listen without judgment, counselling could be a valuable step forward.
